About BlazOn

We couldn't buy the heater we wanted. So we engineered it.

Every portable heater forced a compromise. The powerful ones were bulky, industrial, and ugly. The good-looking ones were underpowered, or tethered to a wall outlet, or threw heat in a single direction and wasted the rest. Nothing on the market was good-looking, powerful, and compact all at once.

So we built it.

The breakthrough: heat that powers itself

The hard part was never the burner — it was the fan. A forced-air fan is what spreads warmth evenly across a space instead of blasting it in one direction, but running one normally means batteries or a wall outlet. Neither belongs on a boat deck, in a van, or in a cabin during an outage.

Our answer was to make the heater generate its own electricity. The EMBER uses the Seebeck thermoelectric effect — the same principle NASA relies on to power deep-space probes like Voyager I and II — to convert the burner's own waste heat into usable power. That electricity runs a whisper-quiet forced-air blower (and, on the Pro, a USB charging port) with no batteries and no cords. It is the world's first portable propane heater with a self-powered fan.

The result feels far bigger than its 18,000 BTUs: forced air distributes warmth up to 50% more efficiently than a comparable fanless unit, across roughly 650 square feet, from a heater you can carry in one hand.

Who we are

BlazOn Heaters was founded in 2023 by Charles Jones, in Seattle, Washington — a city that knows cold, wet, unpredictable weather better than most. The idea started where most good products do: with frustration. Charles kept looking for a heater that was powerful, compact, and genuinely beautiful, and kept coming up empty. The market made you choose. He refused to. So he set out to design the heater that should have existed all along.

I believe in the union of form and function — that high aesthetic design and innovative engineering belong in the same object, not at odds with each other.

What we believe

Form and function are one. A heater should perform flawlessly and look like something you are proud to leave out. We refuse to trade one for the other.

Engineering earns trust. We sweat the details that matter in the field — heat distribution, fuel efficiency, ignition reliability, weather resistance — because when it is cold and you need heat, “almost works” is not good enough.

Safe enough for indoors, tough enough for anywhere. The EMBER is CSA-certified for indoor use, with an oxygen depletion sensor, automatic tip-over and flame-out shutoffs, and cool-touch surfaces. We built in every safety feature you would expect — then added more.

Made by hand, here. Every EMBER is assembled and quality-checked at our facility in Ballard, Seattle, from premium stainless steel and aluminum with no plastics anywhere.

Built for the real world

We design for people who actually use these — on flybridge decks and at marina slips, on patios and campsites, in vans and RVs, and in living rooms when the grid goes down. One heater, for all of it. No cord. No batteries. No installation.

Our promise

We stand behind every EMBER with the confidence of a company that designed it, built it, and uses it ourselves. If it does not perform, we make it right — backed by our 1-year warranty and 30-day return policy. That is not fine print; it is how we do business.

Stay warm. Go anywhere.
